As we all struggle with the added obstacle of working from home in this difficult time, here at Pro-Stretch we are trying to keep team morale up by hosting bi-weekly team Zoom meetings, and generally communicating more than ever. Keep your eyes peeled on our social channels for our tips for #WFH
We are promoting all team members to keep a diary of their time in lock down from a work perspective, look out for more posts on team members, but check out our UK sales team HERE
Our Trims Librarian Yuke, is trying to keep busy working from home with the added distraction of Ramadan, we asked her to keep a diary about her time celebrating Ramadan in UK lock down, read below about how she is coping at this time.
Yuke says;
So, this is the 2nd week, and its a different kind of Ramadan this year….
As you probably know this is a Holy Month for Muslim people, and is observed worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.
Ramadan is more than just abstaining from food and drink, it is also exercising discipline and self-control in all aspect of one’s life and includes refraining from bad habits and behaviour.
I now live in the UK, while my big family is in Jakarta, Indonesia, where as a community they can all observe Ramadan together.
The last 2 years I have been celebrating Ramadan in Jakarta with my family and friends, but this year will be very different.
Of course we all expect that the lock down will soon be over, and we can go back to our routines and some normality, and be able to celebrate Eid al-Fitr together. I hope this happens soon.
I’ve been fasting from day 1 and …fingers crossed ..I’ve been doing fine
I find it a lot easier to stick to the restrictions of Ramadan during the lock down and observing social distancing, mainly because our outdoor activities are limited, we can’t meet friends so there is less temptation with eating out etc and also emotions. This week I am finding I am praying more at home too
I find that keeping connected with my family and friends has helped me greatly, using social media, face time and whats app to chat keeps my morale up and inspires me to succeed in Ramadan.
I have 2 weeks to go till the end of Ramadan…..to everyone that is celebrating with me, I encourage you to keep fighting and be strong in this situation. Happy Ramadan 2020
